Each indoor space has direct access to our outdoor environments, allowing children to move freely between indoor and outdoor play, based on their interests and needs. Our flexible routines are tailored to the diverse needs of each age group, supporting children to thrive at their own pace. Our Government-approved Kindergarten program prepares children for school through engaging, play-based learning experiences that develop confidence, independence and a love of learning.
Each child has an Individual Learning Plan that reflects their interests, strengths and developmental goals, with educators and families working together to review and update it over time. ‘No Jab No Play’ is the Victorian Government legislation requiring all children to be fully immunised before enrolling in any childcare or kindergarten in Victoria. Our long day care program operates from our Children and Family Centres.
Once your paperwork is complete, your child is ready to start their early learning journey with us. Children develop a strong sense of identity as they feel safe, secure and supported, building confidence, resilience and a positive sense of self. Through group activities, conversations and play, children learn to interact with others with care, empathy and respect, building positive relationships and friendships. At our centres, experienced and qualified educators provide a quality education and care program in a welcoming and friendly environment.

Our Government-approved Kindergarten program is delivered by qualified Early Childhood Teachers, supporting structured learning and helping children prepare for school. The centre embraces diversity and welcomes families from all backgrounds and cultures. This ethos is reflected in all our practices, including our weekly meal plans. Our team of 19 culturally diverse educators create an environment where each culture is acknowledged, celebrated and respected. All children enrolled in  our long day care program must be up to date with their immunisations or have an approved exemption.

From day one, each child is supported by a Key Educator, helping them develop a secure and trusting relationship, which supports their sense of belonging and emotional well-being. Children learn best when familiar and secure in their relationships, therefore, to establish the child’s trust and confidence, we encourage all families to visit our service and participate in orientation. Silverwood Child Care Centre provides a warm and inviting atmosphere for children to explore, interact, learn and most of all, develop and encourage their own individual personalities. Our children, families and staff are culturally and linguistically diverse and we work with our families to ensure the cultures of children and their families are recognised within our programs. Our education program includes acknowledging Country and teaching children about First Nations culture, people and history. Our learning programs help children be creative and confident thinkers, build confidence, self-reliance and resourcefulness, and develop problem solving skills.
We also work closely with external professionals and support agencies to ensure that children with additional needs and their families are included, supported, and empowered to participate fully in both home and centre life. BCCA honours the Whadjuk people of the Noongar Nation, the Traditional Custodians of this sacred land on which we learn, work, and play. We respect their Elders, both past and present, and recognise the emerging voices that will lead us forward. We acknowledge their everlasting connection to the land, waters, and skies.
