Childcare Centres in Oakleigh South, VIC 3167

The globally renowned Reggio Emilio Approach we use embraces a childcare philosophy of innovation, self-care, creativity, curiosity, open-mindedness and adaptability. The first years of a child’s life are where the foundations of the wonderful person they have the potential to be are created. While this is important, it comes in combination with encouraging and building confidence, exploration, independence, communication and more.
With areas and classrooms created to stimulate and inspire specific age groups, your child will be engaged socially, mentally, and physically through activities and play relevant to their age and capabilities. Our Flying Start to School Kindergarten learning program continues throughout the morning with planned experiences for pretend play, reading or exploring puzzles together, before children are then invited to enjoy morning tea. Our program continues with opportunities for children to explore and discover in both our indoor and outdoor environments. We know children and families like routine, so you will always receive a warm welcome each morning and an invitation to stay for breakfast. At the end of the childcare centre oakleigh south day, a smooth transition is assured with your child’s belongings ready for you after a day that fulfils your child's interests and curiosity. In between, the day is filled with new and exciting experiences to engage young minds as part of their early childhood education. Here’s a glimpse of what a day of play-based learning at our childcare centre often looks like.

Engaging experiences will be set up so your  toddler feels comfortable and can start playing with other children. We will talk to you about what’s important for the day and what happened overnight, helping us support your child’s individual needs. Children can enjoy learning experiences with children of different ages at drop off time – we call this family grouping. We built an integrated children’s centre for the Oakleigh South Child and Family Hub. As well as providing a new kindergarten, the centre offers maternal and children’s health services for local families and a multi-purpose room for the local community.
When you join Kool Kidz, we’re open and collaborative at every stage of your child’s journey to ensure your family feels safe and confident. Our staff and educators communicate openly and frequently with you. They always take the time to listen and learn about your child, family, and individual needs. Your baby will enjoy engaging in both our indoor and outdoor nursery environments with planned experiences like songs and story time, followed by morning tea. Inspired by these discussions, Richards wove their stories and experiences together to create a work that celebrates the knowledge and history our environment holds. Sharing Country is a comment on how we must collaborate with the natural environment to protect, cultivate and learn from it. Located in the foyer is an artwork by Wurundjeri and Dja Dja Wurrung artist Samantha Richards. Titled Sharing Country, the painting welcomes visitors to the hub with its vibrant colours and pays homage to the local environment.

Works are also underway to rebuild Ashwood Memorial Kindergarten in Ashwood. A new kindergarten is planned to run at the building in 2025, with Council working to appoint a service provider. The new hub is currently the base for Ward Avenue Kindergarten's programs while their kindergarten facility in Oakleigh South undergoes construction throughout 2024. It is the third of four child and family hubs to be built in the City of Monash, following the two award-winning facilities at Wellington Child and Family Hub (completed in 2022) and Pinewood Child and Family Hub (2023). We regularly invite parents and grandparents into the centre for show-and-tell, as we value building community and connection and sharing our family's stories.

I highly recommend E1 as a platform to bring more value and opportunities, to your business, just as it has brought it to ours. It’s great when our families and staff build strong and lasting relationships, but our Coordinators are incredibly busy people, and they don’t have the ability to take bookings or cancellations. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging and extend this to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People. The Hub is host to a Friday playgroup (2pm - 4pm) which is independently run by a community parent group.
