That said, it’s known by the locals but tourists rarely come here so you’re really in for an authentic trip. Copperstone KI offers front-row seats to the action in Emu Bay, one of the most coveted spots on the north coast of Kangaroo Island. I am staying in tent 17, one of the best positioned tents for animal encounters, due to its proximity to the waterhole. Not only does the spacious 71-square-metre King Safari Tent feature a king bed, lounge area, separate dressing room with kitchenette, coffee machine, kettle and fully stocked mini bar, and ensuite bathroom. But you can even glimpse the waterhole  from the rain shower. It’s thoughtful details like this that keep you connected to the safari experience no matter where you are located.  Or explore the coastal scrub and curious wildlife along two of the main walking tracks, the Independence Trail or the Fish Cannery walk.
Though we already mentioned that Vivonne Bay was a great place to stay on KI for families and group of friends, it’s important to note that Emu Bay is an excellent choice as well. The amenities include a fully equipped kitchen, a barbecue and laundry equipment. The house is nestled in the bushes, in a beautiful and well-preserved environment. From there, you can easily reach the beach and go swimming or snorkelling. That said, if you wanted a secluded Airbnb, you may want to opt for one of the other properties mentioned in this article. It feels pretty secluded as it’s set in a lush garden but it’s not as remote as the others.
